The Kunindi Foundation.
Kunindi is Mandingo for development or progress. Mandingo is one of Gambia’s many languages, and one of the most widely spoken. With its projects in Gambia, the Kunindi Foundation wants to assist in the development and progress of the country and its population.
Objective:
The Kunindi Foundation provides educational support for children and young people in Gambia, giving them an opportunity to enjoy a decent education and make the right kind of choices about their future. In this way Kunindi improves their life prospects in the most concrete of ways.
The young people who are sponsored by the Kunindi Foundation have clubbed together to form the Kunindi Association. This association organises information events for schoolchildren and others in Gambia with the aim of enhancing the population’s knowledge base and allowing Gambia to develop further as a nation.

The Kunindi Foundation was established on April 4th, 2008.The Board consitis of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer / Secretary
Projects:
- Educational supportThrough donations from the Netherlands, the Kunindi Foundation allows ambitious but underprivileged young people in Gambia to enjoy an education. Kunindi supports young people and their families by holding talks with them on the choice of education and working opportunities in the future.
- If, in the future, the population in Gambia expresses a desire for other kinds of projects relating to education/training and broader issues of social development, Kunindi will respond accordingly and endeavour to establish projects to this end.
- Sensitisation projects
Besides the edjuction routes, the Gambian students sponsored by Kunindi, developed sensitisations that are regulary performed upcountry in Gambia. The sensitisations are about HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TBS and Female Genitile Circumcision.
